1:1 TRAINING sessions
I couldn't recommend Sarah at highly enough. We have a super anxious sausage dog, Florence, who is easily overwhelmed. This meant she was very reactive, particularly in enclosed spaces with other dogs, meaning we had to give up going out with her to cafes, pubs etc. Sarah met with us 121, providing an assessment and really helpful advice before we booked onto the Pup in the City course for beginners. We weren't even sure if it would work out given the proximity to other dogs inside but after a few classes Florence absolutely LOVED attending and was happily co-existing with the other pups. Thanks again for your advice, patience and being such a kind and positive influence on our growing bond with Florence!

How do they learn their name? How do you get them to stop biting your ankles? What do they really really want? From recall and loose lead walking, to being around other dogs and settling at the pub, we’ll focus on the day to day skills you and your dog need the most.
You will learn and proof over 10 cues, have access to two trainers(!) and have support and guidance throughout the course.
All Pup in the City classes are run at the indoor venue, St. Michael and All Angel's Community Hall, London Fields

Being outside can be very distracting, overstimulating and anxiety inducing. In this course we look at all the challenges we might face outside and proof our training in real-world situations. Including recall, loose lead walking, focus and more! Ideal for Pup in the City beginner graduates but get in touch if you think this course would suit you. Each group will be a maximum of 4 dogs and we will pair you with the other dogs that are best suited.

Are you long and low to the ground and need some help with the outside world? This course is exclusively for you. We will working through challenges that you face as a Dachshund owner in the city from anxiety around other dogs to confidence building walking down the street. There will be a max of four doxies per group.

- Proficient on basic commands: NAME, SIT, RECALL, OFF LEAD IN THE PARK - if not - please discuss with Sarah.
- Fully toilet trained indoors. If you are not confident about this - do let Meatball Motel know ahead of time to ensure relevant doggie business facilities are arranged.
- Fully vaccinated and up to date on fleas and ticks.
- Able to play evenly and not be aggressive around other dogs. If they are reactive or resource guard, please do give more information so we can discuss if we need to work on any behaviour modification together before trialing daycare.
- Dropped off with a harness, lead (non-flexi lead) and contact details attached to their harness or collar. This must be the dog carer's telephone number and postcode.
Please note we are unable to have any dog that has a history of aggression or any form of behaviour that makes them a threat to the Meatball Motel staff, other dog guests, or members of the public. Unfortunately if your dog exhibits this type of behaviour we will be unable to have them continue their stay.

Specialising in small dogs
We specialise in small dogs in the city to ensure we offer enough space for them all to play freely and also for them to have their own quiet place. We have a max of 4 dogs per day.
Drop off and Collection only
Based a three minute walk from Homerton station. Drop off between 8-10am and pickup between 4-6pm.
We’re on the same team!
In whatever capacity we work together in, I’ll always be on your side. We take things as they come and we’ll solve lots along the way - all three of us.

What we offer - daycare & boarding
The Meatball Motel Morals
Nothing is more important to us than your dog’s health, safety and comfort. Whether at daycare, boarding during your holidays or working together at your home on training, our priority is you and your dog's wellbeing.
We believe in only using force-free, science and reward based care and training methods. We use no aversive methods or “tell off your dog.”
Every dog is an individual and some thrive in a daycare environment and others may not. We will always do a trial day to see if the fit is right for your dog. We keep our numbers small (and our dogs!) to ensure all the dogs have more than enough space and calm, quiet places to go to ensure they aren’t getting overstimulated by the environment.
We will play with joy. We will be silly. We will share our silly stupid videos.
